Dr. Angela Garcia Falconetti was appointed the interim president of the Â鶹´«Ã½ by the Â鶹´«Ã½ Board of Trustees in February 2026.

Falconetti, a proud double Â鶹´«Ã½ alumna and Jacksonville native, previously served as the president of Polk State College since 2017. 

Falconetti earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Education from New York University, and a master’s degree and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Â鶹´«Ã½ with Instructional Leadership, Postsecondary Education, and Adult Learning specializations. 

Early in her career, Falconetti worked at Â鶹´«Ã½ in a variety of roles, rising in the Office of Student Affairs from an academic advisor/recruiter to assistant vice president of student affairs. She went on to serve as Special Assistant to the first deputy assistant secretary for Community Colleges in Washington, D.C. and worked at other higher education institutions, including Virginia Western Community College and Daytona State College. 

She has served as an adjunct faculty at several universities, including Florida Atlantic University, Daytona State College and Florida State College at Jacksonville. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive, has published more than 25 scholarly papers and book chapters and has served as editor for two higher education journals.
