The Graduate School's Mission

In concert with the University’s academic colleges, the Graduate School supports and promotes graduate education at the �鶹��ý by developing, maintaining, and enhancing strong graduate programs and an excellent graduate faculty. Our programs cultivate students' advanced knowledge and skills in their chosen fields, encourage their proficiency with research and other forms of scholarship, and are relevant to our students and to the communities we serve.

Goal 1

Offer high quality and relevant graduate programs to make �鶹��ý a destination for talented students.

Objective 1.1: Promote the development of new graduate degrees that serve the strategic growth of �鶹��ý and are key contributors to the NE Florida entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem while positioning �鶹��ý for R1 (very high research) Carnegie status.

Objective 1.2: Foster the maintenance and growth of graduate programs that are impactful, rigorous, and current in both academic content and delivery.

Goal 2

Recruit high caliber graduate students with the evidenced potential to accomplish goals appropriate to graduate study and to succeed in their chosen degree programs and profession.

Objective 2.1: Attract a robust and talented graduate school student applicant pool.

Objective 2.2: Offer funding opportunities to recruit, retain and improve support to optimize graduate student success.

Objective 2.3: Showcase the quality and breadth of �鶹��ý’s outstanding graduate programs.

Provide graduate students with a transformative educational experience and the support to succeed academically and professionally.

Objective 3.1: Advance opportunities to elevate our graduate student learning opportunities.

Objective 3.2: Support Graduate Program Directors’ efforts to provide quality programing, efficient processes and nurturing advising to our graduate student body.

Objective 3.3: Promote meaningful student engagement with the Graduate School and our campus.

Inspire relevant scholarship and impactful innovation among graduate students.

Objective 4.1: Foster scholarly excellence in our graduate students.

Objective 4.2: Enhance collaborative research, scholarship and creative activities between our faculty and graduate students.

Expand mutually beneficial partnerships with the community to advance graduate education.

Objective 5.1: Ensure the relevance of our graduate programs to the communities we serve.

Objective 5.2: Expand pathways for our graduate students from the classroom to community-based research, internship, and career opportunities.
