Friends of GTM Biology Graduate Support
Purpose
The purpose of this award is to support graduate research in the College of Arts and Sciences at Âé¶¹´«Ã½, and to support a graduate student participating in research at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTMNERR).
Selection Criteria
- Earn a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Be enrolled in a graduate program within the Department of Biology for Fall and Spring semesters
- Meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the Âé¶¹´«Ã½
- Be selected by the Chair of Biology and the dually-appointed Research Scientist at GTMNERR and Âé¶¹´«Ã½
Students awarded this scholarship must also agree to:
- comply with all University regulations, rules, codes of conduct governing students on campus
- consent to release grades to the Division of University Development and Alumni Engagement for the purpose of reporting to the donor,
- remain in good standing as a student,
- comply with the GTMNERR regulations and meet the standards of volunteers who work at the reserve,
- create a presentation and share findings at the annual State of the Reserve event and,
- produce a minimum of two communication pieces for publication by Friends of GTMNERR
